Assessment

Lower Secondary students are assessed via innovative, formative, and summative assessments based on percentages as well as Cambridge Progression Tests. Two exam series are given to IPS Students at the end of Grade 8. Pupils at IPS are tested by both the Cambridge Lower Secondary Checkpoints and Polish National Exams. During the most recent Cambridge Checkpoint Exams in Grade 8, IPS Lower Secondary Students scored above international averages in all subject areas, with 100% achieving a score of 4.0 or higher in Math. Recent Research has proven that Cambridge Checkpoint scores were a good predictor of performance in IGCSE and A Levels, particularly in the same or a related subject. Likewise, during Polish National Exams IPS Lower Secondary Students scored above national averages in all subjects, with outstanding results in English and Foreign Language. Homework is given to IPS Students both on an individualized need basis and as part of the reading and spelling program.
